Four-Strand Bracelet with Christmas Beads, White Hearts, and Turquoise Blue Chevron Beads

This is a four-strand bracelet strung with Christmas beads, White Hearts, and turquoise blue Chevron beads, among others. The colorful beads are known as Christmas beads, a name given in West Africa where these vibrant beads are worn during the Christmas season. This piece features a mix of antique beads from Venice, the Czech Republic, and Holland. Despite their vivid hues, these beads are approximately 100 years old! A section of each strand is adorned with White Hearts and Chevron beads. The red beads are an antique type called White Hearts, named for their white core, resembling a heart. These Venetian beads date from the 19th to 20th century. They have a honey-like translucence with subtle color variations, appearing as sharp, cross-sectioned rings. The turquoise blue beads are antique Venetian beads called Chevron. They feature a distinct four-layer structure. "Chevron" in English refers to their striped or "mountain range" pattern (known as Rosetta in Italian). These beads are considered the aristocracy of beads, holding significant value and meaning. Turquoise blue Chevron beads, in particular, are rare and highly sought after! A few of these are also incorporated into the Christmas bead sections. The beads between the White Hearts, as well as the clasp rings and charms, are made of Karen Silver. ◇Karen Silver◇ This silver is crafted by a hill tribe living in the Thai-Burmese border region.
