[Xiao Mei Yao Old Zhu Ni (Red Clay)] Aged for 30 years, clay refined using traditional methods, unpolished rim. Fired at 1160°C, shrinkage rate of 20%.
"Xiao Mei Yao" refers to a place name approximately 5 kilometers from Huanglong Mountain, not that the teapots are fired in small coal kilns. Because several small kilns for bricks, tiles, and pottery once existed in that area, it eventually became known as "Xiao Mei Yao."
Xiao Mei Yao Zhu Ni clay is rich in oiliness and has a slippery texture, making it very adhesive and challenging to work with. It experiences significant shrinkage during shaping, drying, and firing, and requires a lower firing temperature, making it prone to warping, deformation, and cracking. After firing, the pieces shift from an orange-red to a deep red hue, appearing warm, lustrous, and yielding beautiful water color when brewing tea. Pouring hot water over the pot instantly reveals a delicate, enchanting red. Brewing tea with this clay results in a bright and lively infusion, enhancing aroma and sweetness. With time and use, the color deepens to a rich crimson, becoming warm, profound, and inviting.

Keep it clean and dry during and after use to prevent tea stains. Place it in a well-ventilated area after use. For long-term storage in its box, allow it to air dry naturally for 1-2 months to ensure the pores are fully free of moisture; otherwise, it may develop mold.

Soak the teapot in a solution with enzyme cleaner.
