The so-called "permanently happy self-purification" refers to the real "eternally-happy self-purification" after the removal of the four inversions. Only by removing the four-inversion of the "permanently happy and self-purification" can we achieve the true eternally happy and self-purification, which is the so-called four virtues. We should strive to understand what the four inversions are, and then stay away from the four inversions, so as to achieve true happiness and self-purification. The Nineteenth Volume of the Treatise on Jusha states: “It should be known that there are always four kinds of inversions, one is the permanence of impermanence, the second is the inversion of suffering and pleasure, the third is the inversion of the impure attachment, and the fourth is the inversion of the self-absence. Constantly unchanged but not born and perished, it is called Eternal Virtue; Quiet and eternal peace, it is called Pleasure Virtue; attaining great freedom is the basis of the Lord, and the nature does not change, it is called Self-Virtue; liberation from all defilements, it is called Purity Germany.
