This large, domestic wool-cotton stole is handcrafted using the traditional shibori (tie-dye) method with Kobunagusa (Japanese Arthraxon) and Logwood. Featuring the rare "Kaya-ori" weave with a cotton warp, the texture is incredibly airy and soft to the touch. It is free from the prickliness often associated with wool. Even those who find standard wool uncomfortable can wear this with confidence, thanks to its smooth and gentle texture. This lightweight, oversized stole is 100% hand-dyed with natural botanical extracts. Size: Approx. 120cm width x 190cm length (including 3cm fringe on each end). Weight: 147g. Despite its large size, the thin wool material makes it versatile—perfect for wrapping yourself in warmth or using as a cozy lap blanket. The bright gray sections with a faint blue hint are dyed using Logwood heartwood. The vibrant yellow sections are shibori-dyed with Kobunagusa, a traditional dye also used for the famous "Kihajo" kimonos. During the botanical dyeing process, the fabric is washed multiple times before and after dyeing. This intensive process is what results in its superior softness.
