This is a pouring vessel for sencha tea with a gentle, rounded shape and beautiful, fine crazing.
It is made using the experience gained from learning Ogawa-ryu Sencha tea.
It also makes a great gift for people who enjoy tea.
This pouring vessel is made on a potter's wheel using clay from Shigaraki. To achieve a beautiful white color, it is carefully carved using the thin-cutting technique learned in Kiyomizu, Kyoto, and finished with a glaze. The inside is also glazed, and small holes are carefully drilled for the tea strainer. The inside is orange in places. It is light, easy to pour, and has excellent water flow. The lid is also well-ground and fits perfectly. It takes a lot of time to complete, from making the pottery to finishing.
You can enjoy watching the beautiful crazing increase as you use it.
