This work uses some common elements from traditional calligraphy, such as the balance between thick and thin lines, light and dark ink, and the dry brush effect. These features help show the flowing rhythm and energy of cursive script.
For this piece, I used a rubbing bag (usually used to print the edges of seal carvings) as my writing tool, together with acrylic paint. I wanted to try different materials instead of the usual ones used in calligraphy. It was an experimental work, and I’m very happy with the result.
This is not calligraphy.
