**◈ A Word from the Designer**
Carefully selected from historical imperial treasures used for **sacrifices to heaven – Lapis Lazuli**, the **King of Gems – Ruby**, and two **treasures from the deep sea** – **Larimar and Pearls**.
The **Lapis Lazuli** is of the **top-grade Imperial Blue** variety, with a pure and vibrant hue, and exceptionally fine distribution of gold and white flecks. It is meticulously polished into a **charm-free pendant (symbolizing peace and safety)**, exuding grandeur and nobility, a truly exquisite top-tier piece.
Echoing the blue, white, and gold tones of the Lapis Lazuli, the necklace chain is designed with pristine white pearls and blue Larimar.
The **Larimar** is a **top-grade** variety, with a unique and beautiful **oceanic texture**, shimmering with a dreamlike blue iridescence.
**Baroque pearls (naturally irregular pearls)** form the body of the necklace, adorned with **top-grade rubies** interspersed among the pearls, creating a **warm, understated, luxurious, and noble** aesthetic. Each gemstone is exceptionally beautiful, and every detail reflects the designer's dedication.
The **asymmetrical design** possesses a rhythmic quality, elegantly draping around the décolletage, avant-garde and fashionable, **captivating from every angle**.
**This is a one-of-a-kind piece, awaiting its destined owner of prosperity, beauty, and career success. ^^**
**Lapis Lazuli**
Ancient texts record that Chinese people have used Lapis Lazuli for at least five thousand years, and Egyptians even earlier, around eight thousand years ago. Chinese emperors of past dynasties used Lapis Lazuli for sacrifices to heaven, as its blue color resembled the sky, and people believed it was a gemstone that could connect with the heavens. The Egyptians, believing it could communicate with another world, also used it.
The finest Lapis Lazuli in the world is found in Afghanistan. Afghan Lapis Lazuli is known for its bold and commanding color, earning it the reputation of "Imperial Blue."
When selecting Lapis Lazuli, look for pieces with a good balance of blue, white (calcite), and gold (pyrite) natural distribution. As Lapis Lazuli forms near the earth's surface and has many pores, it is not suitable for prolonged exposure to water. It is recommended to maintain it regularly with mineral oil.
**Charm-Free Pendant**
During the late Ming Dynasty, the "charm-free" (or "pattern-free") jade pendant became highly popular in jade carving. Its homophone, "wu shi pai," also means "no worries" or "peace and safety," serving as a "wish-granting plaque" for people seeking peace and health.
**Larimar (Blue Pectolite)**
Larimar is a newly discovered gemstone variety, found only in the Dominican Republic, where it is the national gemstone. Its production is extremely scarce. Legend has it that a Dominican gem dealer combined his daughter's name, "Lari," with the Spanish word for sea, "mar" (meaning "unparalleled blue"), to name this emerging gemstone.
It is said that the Dominican Republic was part of the lost continent of Atlantis, hence Larimar is also known as the "Stone of Atlantis," believed to enhance perception and intuition and connect with the earth.
Larimar possesses a blue color reminiscent of the ocean, with wave-like white patterns that evoke the visual effect of seafoam on the waves, exhibiting rich variations. Each piece of Larimar has a unique appearance.
Larimar belongs to the mineral pectolite. It is formed by the cooling and crystallization of high-temperature liquids from volcanic activity. In most igneous rocks, pectolite appears as colorless, white, pale pink, or pale green crystals; blue crystals are extremely rare. Additionally, because Larimar minerals sometimes coexist with red or brown (iron-containing) or gray inclusions, those exhibiting blue tones are rare and highly valued.
Larimar holds the energy of the sea, symbolizing environmental consciousness, promoting peace and harmony, calming anger, and resolving disputes.
**Pearl**
The English word "Pearl" originates from the Latin word "Pemnla," meaning "child of the sea." Throughout history, in both Eastern and Western cultures, pearls have symbolized health, purity, and nobility, and are the birthstone for June.
Pearls, amber, and coral are the three great organic gemstones of the world, with pearls being hailed as the king of organic gemstones.
Pearls are produced within mollusks. Their main chemical component is calcium carbonate. They have low hardness and are soluble in acids and alkalis. Therefore, pearls should not be in prolonged contact with rough fabrics or hard objects, and should be kept away from cosmetics, perfumes, dyes, and any chemical substances. They are also not suitable for oil polishing.
Pearls exhibit a magnificent and rich spectrum of colors, from warm tones of yellow, gold, orange, pink, and creamy white, to cool tones of green, blue, indigo, purple, and gray.
Pearls can form naturally or be cultured. Currently, 99% of pearls on the market are cultured.
Natural pearls are primarily found in the Persian Gulf region and India, as well as freshwater pearls from Tennessee, USA.
Cultured pearls benefit from Japan's most mature technology, producing the highest quality. Other producing regions include China, Tahiti, Australia, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Myanmar in the South Seas.
Cultured pearls can be divided into four types:
1. Nucleated cultured pearls – generally round in shape. (Perfectly round natural pearls are extremely rare.)
2. Keshi pearls – pearl nuclei are attached to the shell, allowing the pearl to grow around the nucleus.
3. Mabe pearls – derived from the Japanese pronunciation "Mabe Shinju," these are half-round pearls, also known as "bun pearls" or "half-round pearls."
4. Non-nucleated cultured pearls – freshwater cultured pearls, used for making pearl powder due to the absence of a nucleus.
**Ruby**
The name "Ruby" is derived from the Latin word "Ruber," meaning red.
In Sanskrit, rubies are referred to as the "King of Gems" and the "Leader among Gems." Due to their fiery red color, Indians believed rubies to be an eternal flame.
Rubies have very high hardness, but their crystals are small and often contain fractures, making them prone to inclusions of green zoisite or black tourmaline. Therefore, large rubies often exhibit a mix of red, green, and black. Rubies with green zoisite inclusions are commonly known as "ruby-zoisite."

**◈ On Usage and Collection**
1. Natural gemstones possess natural luster and unique textures (minor black spots, stone lines, ice cracks, cloudiness, mineral deficiencies, asymmetry, and other natural details). With frequent wear, you will observe subtle color changes in natural gemstones, which often become more translucent and captivating – this is also the best method of care.
Natural organic gemstones (such as coral, amber, pearls, and giant clams) have low hardness and are sensitive to acids and alkalis. When soiled, avoid using detergents. Simply rinse with clean water and wipe with a soft cloth. You may also use a soft brush dipped in a small amount of mineral oil (such as baby oil) for gentle polishing and care.
2. Metal jewelry has a long lifespan, but avoid external damage or strong acids and alkalis that can cause fading.
3. Fabric materials (ribbons, cotton, gauze) are soft and comfortable to the touch and have a long lifespan, but avoid high temperatures, external damage, or strong acids and alkalis that can cause fading.
4. For jewelry of any material, when soiled, wipe with a soft cloth dipped in clean water as appropriate, or use a suitable amount of neutral detergent for suitable materials. After washing, ensure it is dried promptly.
5. When jewelry is removed, it should be properly packaged and stored to minimize exposure to excess air and slow down oxidation and discoloration. Avoid stacking or placing heavy objects on it.
