What is the wood-firing process?** American clay, Japanese clay, and Miaoli clay are mixed in different proportions. The creation process involves hand-shaping (not on a wheel) to slowly form the piece. After basic shaping, the body lines are refined, followed by sanding to complete the greenware. Once loaded into the kiln, it undergoes a continuous five-day, four-night wood-firing process using natural longan and acacia wood. The temperature reaches over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this time, natural ash deposits adhere to the works, forming a special ash glaze. Simultaneously, the kiln's flame patterns flow among the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple fire marks. After five days and four nights of ash and fire pattern interplay, a week of cooling is required before a piece achieves its beautiful form!
