If you prefer to avoid this transformation, for light-colored pieces and before first use, we recommend heating them in rice water over low heat for 20-30 minutes. The starch will fill the pores, reducing color absorption. ◆ You may notice small white spots on the bottom of the ceramic pieces. This is the ceramic clay used to support the base during firing.
