A bowl elegantly depicted with crabs.
The subtle variations in color, reminiscent of ink wash paintings, lend a deep, artistic quality, creating a piece that embodies Japanese beauty.
This piece is crafted using Shigaraki clay, shaped on a potter's wheel, and meticulously finished with hand-painted crabs before being fired. The glaze, a unique blend formulated in our own studio, is iron-based. A single crab is painted on the interior. The smooth, lustrous glaze feels gentle in the hand, making it comfortable to hold with a pleasant mouthfeel.
With its simple design and subdued colors, this versatile vessel enhances the presentation of any dish.
It can be widely used as a matcha bowl, a rice bowl, or for serving noodles and soups.
Easy to care for, it also makes a thoughtful gift.
As you use it, you'll enjoy the deepening character that develops with the subtle crackling (kannyu) over time.
Diameter: 14.5cm, Height: 8.0cm, Weight: 290g
