These earrings feature a design connecting Dogon violet beads, silver beads, and hidden blue beads.
The beads, with their beautiful translucent violet hue and pentagonal polyhedral shape, are inherited from the Dogon people of Africa. They are antique trade beads crafted in the Netherlands between the 17th and 19th centuries. The Dogon are known for their profound astronomical knowledge, often reflected in beads resembling the sky in blue or spider-like clear (translucent) patterns. This particular violet shade is a rare and coveted color. The beads are in excellent condition with no cracks.
*As these are antique items, they may have minor scratches. There might be slight variations in size, shape, and color between the left and right earrings.
(Dogon bead size: 0.4cm length, 0.65cm width)
Concealed within the Dogon beads and the silver caps are small, antique blue Venetian beads.
The caps above the Dogon beads, as well as the double helix rings and the small beads in between, are crafted from Karen silver.
The floral beads and connecting pins are also made of silver.
These plump and intricately crafted silver beads are each handmade.
The French hooks are made of Sterling silver (925), with a "925" stamp.
