Brass Care Instructions: Brass has long been a favored material for jewelry due to its accessible price point and resistance to fading. However, like sterling silver, brass is prone to oxidation. Exposure to water, sweat, and air can deepen its color. While some appreciate this natural patina, there are ways to maintain its luster: ♦ Avoid contact with water. ♦ Store in a resealable pouch when not being worn. If the luster appears dulled, a few simple methods can restore your item's original brilliance. Please note that while color can be restored after scratches, the original polished shine may not be fully recovered (the beautiful, vintage matte bronze finish is also lovely!). ♦ Use a toothbrush with a small amount of foaming toothpaste or tooth powder and gently scrub as if brushing your teeth to restore brass's shine. Be sure to dry thoroughly afterward. ♦ A polishing cloth can quickly restore shine (not suitable for brushed finishes). ♦ Dilute lemon juice, soak the brass item for about 5 minutes, and it will quickly regain its shine (not suitable for natural beads sensitive to acid, such as pearls).
