It's a departure from previous works, with a more mature feel in both color and design, and the leaf veins have been processed to give it a more realistic look. Outside, the atmosphere is reminiscent of a clear, rainy season. Both are very attractive. Each piece is colored by hand, with a gradation to prevent the design from becoming monotonous. About the materials The hydrangeas and leaves are made using Mino washi (machine-made washi paper) produced in Gifu Prefecture. Mino washi paper is made by bleaching kozo, the raw material for washi paper, thoroughly over a period of time using plenty of water from the clear Nagara River in Gifu Prefecture. Mino washi paper is made by pouring all the blessings of Gifu into it.
