[Xiao Mei Yao Aged Zhu Ni (Red Clay)] Aged for 30 years, crafted with ancient methods, unpolished rim. Fired at 1160°C, shrinkage rate 20%. The term "Xiao Mei Yao" refers to a place name approximately 5000 meters from Huanglong Mountain, not that the teapot was fired in a small coal kiln. Because several small kilns for bricks, tiles, and pottery once existed in the area, it became known as "Xiao Mei Yao" over time. Xiao Mei Yao Zhu Ni is known for its rich oiliness and smooth feel, with strong adhesion, making it challenging to work with and fire. It experiences significant shrinkage during forming, drying, and firing, and is fired at lower temperatures, making it prone to warping, deformation, and cracking. After firing, the pieces transform from an orange-red to a dark red hue, appearing warm, lustrous, and producing excellent water color for tea. When hot water is poured over it, it reveals a delicate, captivating red. Brewing tea with this clay results in a bright, lively infusion that enhances aroma and gathers sweetness. Over time, it develops a rich, deep crimson patina, exuding warmth and approachability.
