The Lucky Cat is a collaboration between two well-known long-established ceramics shops in Kyoto - Tao Qiu and Shimizu Rokuhei Kiln. Each one is a rare collection of works of art. Kiyomizu Rokuhei Kiln is a famous ceramics family in the Kiyomizu area. It was founded in Gojozaka, Kyoto in the late Edo period (1771) and has been passed down for eight generations. This attitude of constantly creating new things, driven by history and tradition, is also reflected in the existence of Kiyomizu-yaki, which is rich in variety. In this collaboration, the model of the Lucky Cat was made by Shimizu Rokuhei Kiln, while Tao Qi was responsible for the painting creation. The theme of the work revolves around nature, mainly flowers and plants of the four seasons.
