**◈ Designer's Notes**
From the perspectives of color theory and fashion design aesthetics, the convergence of **red, blue, and purple** often evokes an aura of **prosperity and opulence**.
We have meticulously selected three renowned gemstones in these hues: red tourmaline, lapis lazuli, and amethyst, along with pearls. Each gem embodies its most exquisite state:
The centerpiece is **lapis lazuli (the stone of imperial sacrifice to heaven)**, skillfully crafted into **antique long beads**. These substantial beads showcase an **imperial blue** grade, with a captivating distribution of **blue, white, and gold** hues. The blue is noble and vibrant, the **gold (pyrite)** glints like highlights, and the **white (calcite)** drifts like **white clouds in a blue sky**, truly befitting its reputation as a precious stone that **connects with the heavens**, exuding an **air of solemn dignity**.
Adorning the lapis lazuli are five charms, symbolizing the **"Five Blessings Descending Upon the Home"**.
These charms feature a red-pink tourmaline ruyi (**"as one desires"**), an amethyst heart (**"wishes come true"**), and pearls (**"purity and nobility"**). The overall composition presents a dynamic and layered interplay of **red, purple, blue, gold, and white tones**, imbued with auspicious meanings, suggesting that all wishes may be fulfilled. This is a magnificent piece, embodying wealth, prosperity, and wisdom.
**This is a one-of-a-kind creation, awaiting its destined owner of prosperity and wisdom. ^^**
**Lapis Lazuli**
Ancient texts record the use of lapis lazuli in China dating back five thousand years, and even earlier in Egypt, around eight thousand years ago. Chinese emperors historically used lapis lazuli for celestial sacrifices, believing its sky-like blue color connected them to the heavens. Ancient Egyptians, too, revered it, thinking it facilitated communication with the afterlife.
The finest lapis lazuli globally originates from Afghanistan. Afghan lapis lazuli is renowned for its deep, commanding blue, often referred to as "imperial blue."
When selecting lapis lazuli, look for a pleasing natural distribution of blue, white (calcite), and gold (pyrite) inclusions. As lapis lazuli forms near the earth's surface, it can have pores, making it sensitive to prolonged water exposure. Regular conditioning with mineral oil is recommended.
**Tourmaline**
Tourmaline, also known as the "rainbow gemstone," possesses potent energy. Its vibrant, varied colors and high transparency have been cherished since antiquity.
Tourmaline's spectrum encompasses all colors, and its energy is believed to correspond to the body's various chakras.
When selecting tourmaline, pay attention to its color and clarity. Many tourmalines exhibit pleochroism (multiple colors within one stone), making pure single-color specimens exceptionally rare.
**Ruyi**
The term "Ruyi" literally translates to "as one desires," signifying the fulfillment of wishes.
The Ruyi scepter is characterized by a cloud or lingzhi mushroom motif at the top, connected to a long handle. Sometimes, only the lingzhi or cloud shape is used as a symbolic representation.
According to the Qing Dynasty text "Shi Wu Yi Ming Lu," the "Ruyi" was historically a back-scratcher, akin to a modern-day "un-itcher."
Furthermore, in ancient times, officials used Ruyi scepters as note-taking tablets ("Hu") during court sessions, and military leaders employed them as command batons. Thus, the Ruyi symbolizes wisdom, authority, and auspiciousness.
We often see Bodhisattvas holding Ruyi scepters:
"Guanyin of the Ruyi" holds a Ruyi, symbolizing her ability to perceive all, rescue from danger, avert misfortune, ensure success in all endeavors, and bring peace of mind.
"Manjushri Bodhisattva," the embodiment of wisdom, holds various implements, each with symbolic meaning: a sword signifies cutting through afflictions; a blue lotus represents pure, untainted wisdom and virtue; and a Ruyi symbolizes wisdom and auspiciousness. Therefore, the Ruyi also signifies wisdom.
**Amethyst**
The name "amethyst" originates from the ancient Greek words "a-" (not) and "methustos" (drunk), as it was believed to protect the wearer from intoxication. Ancient Greeks wore amethyst and crafted drinking vessels from it, leading to the belief that amethyst enhances wisdom.
Lavender amethyst, with its delicate purple hue, represents higher consciousness, spirituality, and divine love.
The frequency of purple corresponds to the crown chakra, promoting calmness and tranquility. Its pure, refined, and dense energy offers a soothing experience.
**Pearl**
The English word "pearl" derives from the Latin "Pemnla," meaning "child of the sea." Throughout history, in both Eastern and Western cultures, pearls have symbolized health, purity, and nobility, and are the birthstone for June.
Pearls, amber, and coral are the world's three great organic gemstones, with pearls often hailed as the "king of organic gemstones."
Pearls are formed within oysters and mussels. Their primary chemical component is calcium carbonate, and they have low hardness, being soluble in acids and alkalis. Therefore, pearls should not be exposed to rough fabrics or hard objects for extended periods, nor come into contact with cosmetics, perfumes, dyes, or any chemicals. They should also not be oiled for maintenance.
Pearls exhibit a rich and varied palette, with soft, delicate colors ranging from warm yellows, golds, oranges, pinks, and creamy whites to cool greens, blues, indigos, purples, and grays.
Pearls can form naturally or be cultured. Currently, 99% of pearls on the market are cultured.
Natural pearls are primarily found in the Persian Gulf region and India, as well as freshwater pearls from Tennessee, USA.
Cultured pearls benefit from Japan's most mature technology and produce the highest quality. Other significant sources include China, Tahiti, Australia, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Myanmar in the South Seas region.
Cultured pearls can be categorized into four types:
1. Full-bead cultured - Tend to be spherical. (Perfectly spherical natural pearls are extremely rare.)
2. Keshi pearls - Nucleus beads are attached to the oyster's mantle, allowing the pearl to grow around the nucleus.
3. Mabe pearls - Pronounced "mah-bay," derived from the Japanese word for pearl. These are half-spherical, also known as "bun pearls" or "half-round pearls."
4. Nucleus-free cultured - Freshwater cultured pearls, which lack a nucleus bead and are used for making pearl powder.

**◈ Care and Collection**
1. Natural gemstones possess natural luster and unique textures (tiny black spots, stone lines, ice cracks, cloudiness, mineral inclusions, asymmetry, and other natural details). With frequent wear, you will observe subtle color changes in natural gemstones, often making them appear more translucent and captivating – this is the best form of care.
Natural organic gemstones (such as coral, amber, pearls, and giant clam shells) have low hardness and are sensitive to acids and alkalis. When soiled, avoid using detergents. Clean with plain water and wipe with a soft cloth. You may also use a soft brush dipped in a small amount of mineral oil (like baby oil) for gentle conditioning.
2. Metal jewelry has a long lifespan, provided it is protected from external force damage or strong acids and alkalis that could cause fading.
3. Fabric components (ribbons, cotton, gauze) are soft and comfortable, with a long lifespan, provided they are kept away from high temperatures, external force damage, or strong acids and alkalis that could cause fading.
4. For jewelry of any material, when soiled, wipe with a soft cloth dampened with water as appropriate. For suitable materials, a small amount of neutral detergent may be used. After washing, ensure the item is dried promptly.
5. When jewelry is removed, store it properly in packaging to minimize exposure to air and slow down oxidation and discoloration. Avoid stacking or placing heavy objects on it.
