After applying a light blue glaze with a brushstroke technique around the rim, a touch of amber-colored glaze is added for a subtle accent. The interplay of multiple glazes, melting and merging during firing, creates flowing, organic patterns. Perfect for Japanese tea or coffee. Also suitable for a small serving of soup. All stages, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are meticulously handcrafted in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. To minimize any potential scratching to your table surfaces, the base has been carefully sanded. To address this, all our pottery undergoes a waterproofing treatment using a food-safe sealant before shipping, eliminating the need for initial seasoning (me-kome). This treatment requires 2-3 days, hence our shipping window is set at 5 days from order placement.
