1970s UK Cap-Tins Series Chef Metal Storage Tin
From The Tin Box Company, established in 1952 in Long Island City, New York. The Cap-Tins series features various characters, including this chef, as well as a Policeman, Sailor, Clown, and Santa Claus.
The bottom is marked "Designed by Daher, Long Island City, N.Y." Daher was a renowned designer known for their exquisite lithographic printing on metal tins. Although the company was based in New York, many of these high-quality metal tins were manufactured in factories in the UK or the Netherlands during that era.
Designed to hold candies, tea leaves, cookies, or to serve as a decorative kitchen canister. Whether used for storing spice packets or toothpicks in the kitchen, or simply placed beside the coffee machine as a charming retro accent, it adds a wonderful ambiance!
