How to use ceramic on-glaze markers:
Shake well before use. Remove the cap, press and hold the tip to make the glaze flow, and the bullet-shaped tip is convenient for designing and painting. Paint the color design on the ceramic surface as desired. Paint evenly to avoid color mixing. The colors of the markers in this series cannot be mixed, and mixing may make the color impure. Metallic colors - gold/ Silver/ Bronze colors are opaque colors, and other colors are transparent colors. It is recommended to finish the painting in one stroke, and do not repeat the painting after drying as much as possible, which is prone to film debris.
To erase or correct a painted pattern, wipe the ceramic with soap and water, glass cleaner or alcohol, all from the mug before baking! If wiping, it must be thoroughly dried with a lint-free cloth to avoid color smearing. NOTE: It is important that the surface is clean and free of lint, dust and fingerprints.
Once the designed pattern is dry and complete, remove the masking tape and stencil. Avoid contact with wet, wet ceramic painted areas as it may leave unwanted texture (fingerprints).
Before baking, remove any stickers or labels. In order to make your design permanent, it must be heated continuously to 190-220 degrees for 20-40 minutes (please confirm that the temperature of the kiln is stable). Some colors are more sensitive. Excessive temperature may cause color changes. Insufficient temperature may cause the pattern color to peel off easily. It is recommended to make a small test piece and test it in the kiln (oven) you plan to use, and then burn it on the work after confirming the appropriate temperature.
It is recommended that the pattern be drawn on the outside of the container and is dishwasher and microwave safe to keep your designs bright and intact for durability. Food safe while grilling - decorate without worry!
Red/pink/purple/yellow are the colors that are easy to darken due to the high firing temperature. Please use them carefully to have bright colors ㄛ!!
After firing, precautions when using as tableware
Point 1 is used as tableware
When used as tableware, the pattern may fall off due to various reasons such as the use of sharp objects such as knives, or when the tableware is stacked, but the peeled pattern is harmless to the human body.
Point 2 Precautions when cleaning
Dishwashing detergent is no problem, but bleach or granular detergents (grinding soaps, etc.) used for tableware may cause the pattern to fall off.
Point 3 Cannot be used for high-temperature barbecue dishes (grilling, etc.)
The pigment of the ceramic paint pen will be carbonized when heated at a high temperature of 300 ℃ or higher, so please avoid using it in dishes that must be grilled at high temperature.
Ceramic Overglaze Marker Q&A
Q1. Can it be used on any pottery?
A1 can be used for commercially available pottery and glass products, etc., but colored pottery or items with rough surfaces are not suitable.
Q2. Can I erase if I make a mistake?
A2 can be easily wiped off before firing, and it is very convenient to use a cotton swab when modifying subtle parts!
Q3. What is the condition of discoloration after burning?
A3 may be the problem of overheating of the kiln. It is recommended to try it with a small test piece before firing, and then adjust the temperature slightly.
Q4. Can it be fired repeatedly?
A4 If you want to deepen the color, you can repaint and reheat after firing once.
Q5. What other materials can you paint on besides pottery and glass?
A5 can also be painted on ashtrays, vases or metal products (keys, etc.), as long as it is an item that can be heated in the oven, you still need to do a test before using it. In addition, it can also be used as a general signature pen.
Q6. Can it be painted on glass and baked in the oven?
A6 If it is heat-resistant glass, there is no problem. Although non-heat-resistant glass can also be heated, if the glass itself is heated at a high temperature of 230°C for 30 minutes, the durability may be significantly deteriorated. It is recommended to test before use. .
Q7. Can multiple utensils be heated in the oven at the same time?
A7 When heating multiple utensils at the same time, the heating time remains unchanged, but please note that there must be a distance between each utensil to allow complete heat conduction.
Q8. How to store ceramic on-glaze markers?
A8 Avoid placing it in high temperature and keep it horizontally. If it is placed upright in the pen holder, it will cause the pigment to deviate to one side and cause the pigment to not flow out normally. The pigment on the ceramic glaze marker pen will gradually dry due to the storage time after being opened and used. Use up the paint as soon as possible!
Q9. What should I do if the paint gets on my hands and clothes?
A9 It can be cleaned with soap and water when it gets on your hands. If it gets on your clothes, please wash it with water immediately. It will not be easy to wash off after a long time.
Q10. Can you draw on paper?
The A10 is the same as the general marker pen and can be drawn on paper.
