【A Bag Expressing KALEIDOSCOPE's 'Sui'】
This is the bag I envisioned when I first started making leather goods, thinking, "I wish I could create something like this."
We've named this series 'SUI'.
The name is derived from the Japanese word '粋' (sui), which carries meanings such as:
"unadulterated," "perfect," "high quality," and "pure."
We felt it was the perfect word to describe the unpretentious elegance of this bag.
We hope you'll savor the 'sui' of this bag.
【About the Horseshoe】
The silhouette of this bag draws inspiration from a horseshoe.
In Western cultures, horseshoes have long been known as talismans for protecting hooves, and there's a custom of displaying them in homes.
Their U-shape is said to "catch and hold happiness," making them a cherished symbol of good fortune.
This bag, made from vegetable-tanned leather that ages beautifully, and designed to transcend trends and occasions, would make a thoughtful gift for any milestone celebration.

【What to Know When Choosing Genuine Leather Products】
Did you know that there are significant differences in the properties and prices of "genuine leather" products?
In reality, even among items labeled "genuine leather," prices can vary greatly.
While price differences are influenced by design and manufacturing processes, the cost of the leather material itself can differ by more than tenfold, even for the same type of genuine leather.
Why such a disparity? Here's why:
There are two main tanning methods for leather: "chrome tanning" and "vegetable tanning."
Currently, the majority of leather circulating in the market is chrome-tanned, using chemical agents.
Chrome-tanned leather has advantages such as a relatively uniform surface finish, flexibility, and heat resistance.
It can also be produced in large quantities quickly, making it cost-effective. However, it is also a leather that shows little "aging."
Scratches and stains from use remain as they are, appearing as "deterioration" rather than a change.
In other words, [chrome-tanned leather is a material suited for mass production, and it is at its most beautiful when it is finished].
On the other hand, leather tanned using plant-based tannins is called 'nume leather' (vegetable-tanned leather).
This method is costly due to the long tanning process, and the material can be less stable. However, it allows you to enjoy the "aging" process, such as the development of luster and deepening of color over time.
[Nume leather is made using traditional methods that require time and cost, but it's not perfect when you first get it; it's a leather that grows more cherished over a long period.]
Isn't it true that what you seek in a leather material is something that can "accompany you for a long time"?
[If you're investing in a leather product, we want you to choose a leather that allows you to appreciate its transformation through prolonged use.]
With this philosophy in mind, KALEIDOSCOPE focuses on creating pieces using 'nume leather'.
【Please refrain from purchasing if you are seeking a flawless leather product】
As this is natural leather, it may have inherent scars and unevenness.
We avoid major scratches, but please understand that minor imperfections may be present.
The texture and presence of marks will vary with each piece.
While they might be considered "scratches," they are also proof of the life this leather has lived, its "unique pattern."
Enjoying these marks and variations as something "uniquely yours" is a characteristic of handmade items and genuine vegetable-tanned leather.
* We strive to photograph and adjust colors as faithfully as possible to the actual product. However, please be aware that color discrepancies may occur due to your computer environment.
* Genuine leather may exhibit slight variations in texture, natural insect bites, or blood vessel marks depending on the part. While we carefully select leather to minimize noticeable marks on areas like the flap, please understand that minor imperfections on the body are a testament to the individuality of each piece of genuine leather. Those who are concerned about such details are advised to refrain from purchasing.
* Due to the nature of the product, we cannot accept complaints or returns except for initial defects.
