✨ This is not your average boiled wool. Exceptionally soft, fluffy, and fine, the clean Turkish blue paired with off-white classic paisley creates a harmonious and youthful look. While most boiled wool embraces a distinctly ethnic style, this batch offers a rare, modern-vintage design. Its substantial thickness and softness make it ideal for those sensitive to cold or for travel to colder climates. It can also serve as a comforting blanket to protect your shoulders and neck from the chill. A versatile piece that transcends age.
🐑 Our Kashmir boiled wool process uses 100% wool, ensuring significant warmth. It's primarily categorized into three thicknesses: sheer weave (thread-joining), three-ply, and regular boiled wool. The "sheer weave" is the lightest, suitable for all seasons—offering sun protection and styling for spring/summer, and a refined touch for Taiwan's winter. "Three-ply" is constructed from three layers of wool yarn, creating a thicker middle with a lighter, flowing edge, offering a dreamlike appearance. The thickness in the center rivals that of regular boiled wool, appearing light yet providing ample warmth, perfect for spring, autumn, and winter, instantly adding a touch of fresh, exotic charm. The "regular boiled wool" scarf is exceptionally thick and warm throughout, ideal for those who feel the cold intensely, acting like a personal warm sun during winter and cold snaps. It also functions beautifully as a winter sofa blanket, and its vibrant colors pair exceptionally well with snowy landscapes for stunning, fashionable photographs.
★A warm scarf by your side, in the car, or at the office, it shields you from wind in winter and air conditioning in summer, making it a practical temperature regulator and an essential travel companion. This unique handmade shawl/scarf is not just about warmth; it ensures you are the most captivating figure in every photo.
Kashmir wool is a gift from nature, crafted with the master artisan's heartfelt dedication.
The gentlest scarf, the warmest blessing.
Choose the most precious and comforting gift for yourself and your dearest friends.
Care and Handling Notes:
★ Each piece is a unique handmade wool artwork, crafted individually by artisans.
★ Handmade wool products may exhibit slight imperfections characteristic of handcrafting, unlike precisely uniform machine-made items. Minor thread deviations or slight color variations may occur. (Significant flaws, if apparent to the naked eye and not within the scope of minor handmade variations, will be explicitly noted with photographs. If you are particularly sensitive to the feel of handmade items, please consider your purchase carefully. If you are new to handmade textiles, feel free to message us for details on specific items.)
★ Wool products should not be machine washed. Dry cleaning once a season is recommended. If hand washing, use a wool-specific detergent or shampoo, gently washing separately. (Darker dyed items may experience some color bleeding.) After air-drying, a low-temperature iron can be used with a towel barrier. (Avoid direct sunlight.)
★ We select delicate, artistic-grade handmade pieces, especially cashmere items, which require gentle handling. Fingernails, jewelry, bag hardware, zippers, and Velcro can easily snag the fibers, so treat them with care. While cashmere is lighter and softer, wool products are generally more resistant to friction. We opt for first-clip wool, lamb's wool, or boiled wool techniques, which are softer and more skin-friendly than standard wool. Our experience indicates minimal itching; if you are particularly sensitive, it will be noted, or you can message us for further details.
★ Each order comes with an eco-friendly, minimalist kraft paper box, suitable for gift-giving to loved ones.
Fairy Star Selects - North Indian Kashmir Wool Handmade Scarf/Shawl
Boiled Wool Scarf/
The high altitude of the Kashmir plateau, with its lower boiling point, has led to a unique boiled wool technique. Repeated boiling and drying processes result in a fluffier, softer texture that is more skin-friendly than ordinary wool products. The multi-layered yarn is thick and soft, offering excellent wind protection, complemented by meticulously colored hand-embroidered yarn for exquisite detail. (Can be worn on both sides; one side features contrasting or lighter tones. The reverse side may have a few hand-tied yarn knots. Both sides can be worn if the knots are not a concern.)
Traditional Kani/
Kani is a classical Indian weaving art (not printing). Traditionally, it involved hand-weaving motifs like vines, flowers, paisley, and maple leaves thread by thread using wooden shuttles. Creating one piece could take months. Modern versions are often machine-woven, with time-consuming manual thread-cutting on the back, leaving weft threads visible, resembling impressionist paintings. Some people also enjoy wearing the reverse side.
Hand Embroidery/
The embroidery yarn across the entire shawl is meticulously hand-stitched, meaning it may not have the precise alignment and flatness of machine embroidery, but it possesses a delicate handmade charm. Filled with beautiful, subtle details, the vibrant vines or the paisley motifs symbolizing eternity and royalty evoke a romantic Bohemian garden ambiance.
Kalenkali Hand-Dyed Embroidery/
This combines India's renowned dyeing techniques with hand embroidery. Beautiful and intricate dyed patterns adorn the entire shawl, with embroidery outlining the motifs in various colors. The contrasting border at the bottom, similar to Kani, showcases the allure of intricate handmade artistry. It allows you to appreciate the rich details of two traditional crafts at once, making it a worthy collectible.
