Uphill Path Embroidery A4 Tote - Handbags & Totes - Nylon Blue

Product Description

● Uphill Path Embroidery & Lid A4 Tote Bag Climbing uphill, towards the mountains. Leaving the city, passing through forests and meadows. We've finally created our take on the quintessential A4 tote bag. Crafted from waterproof nylon, it features an abundance of pockets. The inner pocket, which also serves as a lid, offers versatile and convenient usage. ◎ Embroidery adorns the bag's exterior and pocket. Each piece is meticulously embroidered by skilled artisan Hun using a freehand embroidery machine, ensuring a unique character for every item. ◎ The base is reinforced with urethane material, providing protection against impacts and heavy loads. ◎ A convenient pocket on the back, perfect for your smartphone, is included. It measures 18cm in height. ◎ D-rings are attached to both sides, allowing for the optional addition of a shoulder strap. ◎ Inside, you'll find three open compartments and a zippered pocket that doubles as a lid. A snap hook with a cord is perfect for attaching keys. Elastic bands on the sides securely hold water bottles or umbrellas upright. ◎ The interior is lined with navy nylon fabric. ◎ Waterproof nylon is used for all parts except the front and pocket embroidery areas. *This is because the waterproof coating on the back of the nylon makes it difficult to embroider without stretching. ■ Size: 25cm (Height) x 38cm (Width) x 15cm (Depth) ■ Weight: 398g *Please note that as these are handmade items, there may be individual differences. Particularly for items with darts or gathers, measurements can vary by a few centimeters. Therefore, we kindly ask that you consider the overall appearance, including the photos, when judging the size. Also, please be aware that items may appear larger when photographed in front of a person. 《Navy Nylon Fabric》 Type ◎ This item will be shipped from Vietnam via standard mail with tracking. Handcrafted by a Japanese resident in Vietnam. https://youtu.be/To9853__kGY The Fading Art of 《Freehand Embroidery》 Most of the embroidery on Pangandaran's bags is done using the 《freehand embroidery machine》 technique. We are often asked, "How is 《freehand embroidery machine》 different from regular machine embroidery?" Standard machine embroidery involves a machine reading an embroidery design and automatically stitching it. This results in perfectly uniform and identical embroidery every time. In contrast, 《freehand embroidery machine》 is a craft where an artisan manually moves the fabric to create the design. Because it's made by human hands, each piece has its own unique character. No two embroidered pieces are exactly alike, and the finished embroidery has a texture that resembles hand embroidery. It's an incredible artisanal skill, imagining the process of transferring the sketch to the fabric and stitching while looking at the original design, coordinating with the up-and-down movement of the needle. Currently, there are only about 400 people in Vietnam who can perform freehand embroidery machine work. Of these, only 50 are able to do it professionally. Furthermore, only 30 have passed the highest level (Level 4) of embroidery certification. Among them, a mere 10 can execute the intricate embroidery required by Pangandaran. However, being skilled alone is not enough; embroidery requires a certain flair. Subtle nuances can significantly alter the overall impression. For this reason, we entrust our work to Hun, who possesses the highest level of skill. Hun, currently 46 years old, has been embroidering since he was 15, making him a veteran of 31 years in this field. Moreover, he has an exceptional sense for it. We place our complete trust in him. Due to recent economic development, traditional crafts in Vietnam, like elsewhere, face challenging circumstances. Since 2000, the number of people capable of freehand embroidery machine work has been rapidly declining, and there are virtually no young people learning this skill today. As the number of artisans is expected to decrease further, Vietnam's freehand embroidery machine technique is facing a precarious future, potentially disappearing within the next decade or so. In the video, we had the privilege of watching the esteemed artisan Hun create the 'Sudden Rain' embroidery. Please enjoy the beautiful embroidery coming to life through his masterful technique.
