While the black pottery fragment features a traditional Japanese pattern, it also resembles a floral motif. After applying the Mishima pattern, the kiln master meticulously hand-carves each piece into a round shape before firing. Kintsugi repair is applied to the sides of the pottery fragments, allowing the gold to shine through from the profile, lending an air of sophistication.
