Daphne H.C. Shen is an artist who studied in the UK, and her greatest joy is creating. Despite a demanding work schedule, she remains dedicated to her passion for art and continues to create. Daphne has long struggled with insomnia, and she finds that art helps her to express the excess thoughts swirling in her mind. Throughout her creative process, she approaches each piece as a challenge to herself, resulting in distinct styles across her different periods. These styles strongly reflect the collisions, conflicts, and contradictions within her own personality. As she finds it difficult to express herself verbally, she hopes her artwork can convey a sense of who she is. In her piece, "Flower is dancing 4," Daphne combines screen printing with hand-painting to depict her unique interpretation of flowers.
