Putuo wisely says:
Treat yourself with kindness. Don't get angry, don't try to please everyone, and don't punish yourself for others' mistakes.
Smile gently, walk steadily, accept gains and losses with grace, cherish what you have, live fully in the moment, and be true to yourself.

Water-ground cinnabar, Emperor cinnabar, Purple-gold cinnabar, and Crystal cinnabar all belong to high-content quality cinnabar. Their **primary differences lie in color, texture, hardness, and manufacturing methods**.
**「Water-ground Cinnabar」**
**A true vermilion red, with a slight orange undertone. The surface has a warm, matte finish that becomes more lustrous with wear, developing a natural patina.**
The manufacturing process involves repeatedly grinding fine cinnabar particles into a paste, mixing it with water, allowing it to settle, and then collecting the "turbid liquid" from the top. This is then left to settle again (the water-grinding purification method). The resulting cinnabar mud at the bottom is air-dried and then formed using ancient pressing techniques. Even on a cross-section, you can still see fine, uniform mineral flecks.
**「Emperor Cinnabar」**
**The color is a more vibrant red, with higher brilliance and greater hardness.**
The manufacturing process starts with raw natural cinnabar ore, which undergoes multiple stages of refinement including **crushing/grinding/magnetic separation/water-grinding/high polishing**, before being formed using ancient pressing techniques. Emperor cinnabar has almost no visible mineral flecks on the surface, but has them internally. The surface is treated with a **high-polishing** process to achieve a metallic sheen, especially under sunlight, enhancing its metallic quality.
**「Purple-gold Cinnabar」**
**The color leans towards a purplish-red, with slightly lower hardness than Emperor cinnabar.**
The manufacturing process involves multiple stages of **crushing/grinding/screening** from natural cinnabar ore, but **without water-grinding purification**. Therefore, the surface is not as refined and has small, scattered mineral flecks, creating a "starry sky" effect.
**「Crystal Cinnabar」**
**The color is purplish-red and translucent.**
These are large cinnabar particles chipped directly from the cinnabar ore. The crystalline structure is clearly visible on the surface. When illuminated, each particle is transparent, emitting a fluorescent red glow.
**> Spring Plowing, Autumn Harvest**
**Anything in this world that unfolds naturally, that possesses poetry and beauty, often happens spontaneously, much like the turning of the seasons.**
**Learn to slow down, to clear your mind, to treat life with gentleness, to respect the power of time, and allow everything to grow naturally. Like a tree, grow with focus and without fear, developing clear rings.**
**Our handicrafts are also made with this same philosophy!!**
**> Cinnabar**
The earliest written records refer to cinnabar with a single character, "丹" (dān). This character is a pictograph: ancient people dug mines, and extracted minerals from within the wells. Thus, the character "丹" is essentially the character "井" (jǐng, well) with a dot in the middle, signifying something extracted from a mine. This substance is cinnabar.
Because cinnabar is red, often a deep red, "朱" (zhū) also means red. Later, "丹砂" (dānshā) became known as "朱砂" (zhūshā). "丹" and "朱" describe the color, and "砂" describes the shape, referring to irregular granular minerals.
The color of cinnabar is permanent. Chinese calligraphy and painting are known as "丹青" (dānqīng), where "丹" refers to cinnabar. It is also the primary component of "eight-treasure ink paste," an indispensable pigment.
From a Feng Shui perspective, cinnabar is collected from minerals that absorb the essence of the sun and moon, gathering the pure energy of heaven and earth. Therefore, cinnabar possesses a strong positive energy field. We can observe that while jade feels cool to the touch, cinnabar feels warm.
Since ancient times, cinnabar has been essential in Taoist rituals for drawing talismans, consecrating objects, warding off evil, and pacifying negative energies. It has always been regarded as a supreme item for attracting good fortune, warding off evil, and inviting wealth. It carries auspicious meanings of overwhelming good luck and prosperity.
The *Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing* (Classic of Materia Medica) lists cinnabar as a superior herbal ingredient, often used in medicinal treatments for its properties in calming the spirit, detoxification, and alleviating insomnia with excessive dreaming.
Living in modern times, owning one or two cinnabar artifacts can also help cultivate one's character and nurture the eyes and heart.
**> Identification**
**All cinnabar products in our store are high-content cinnabar with a substantial weight. You can use the following methods for identification:**
>. Burning cinnabar will turn it black. (Please heat it indirectly. It is generally not recommended to directly burn finished products, as controlling the time and area is difficult. Once it turns black from prolonged heating, it cannot be restored.)
>. True cinnabar can draw an orangey-red line on paper. (To avoid damaging the appearance of finished products, please draw a line in an inconspicuous area, or use the complimentary bead for drawing.)
**> Care**
**If cinnabar jewelry does not have metal or plant-based components (such as wood, bamboo, bodhi seeds, etc.), it can be lightly exposed to water but should not be submerged for extended periods, as this can affect its luster.**
**Braided cord styles are not recommended to get wet. After washing, they should be air-dried before wearing, as damp cords can lead to excessive moisture, which is not beneficial for the body.**
1. Avoid Corrosion
Cinnabar is a mineral and is insoluble in water. However, frequent contact with chemicals such as soap and shower gel can corrode cinnabar.
2. Avoid Contact with Metal
The mineral elements in cinnabar can absorb metal ions, causing irreversible dulling and blackening of the cinnabar.
3. Avoid High Temperatures
The mercury sulfide component in cinnabar only releases at temperatures of 380 degrees Celsius. Therefore, as long as you avoid exposing cinnabar jewelry to high-temperature environments, you can wear it with confidence.
4. Avoid Collisions with Hard or Sharp Objects
Cinnabar is hard but brittle; be mindful of dropping it.
5. How to Clean
If you find that the cinnabar is dirty, do not soak it in water, as this can alter its original luster! You can gently wipe it a few times with a slightly damp cotton cloth and let it air dry for a while.
6. Oiling Method for Maintenance
Apply a layer of white tea oil or olive oil to the finished product, allowing the surface to absorb the oil and become more lustrous and clear. If applying oil, seal it in a brocade box, perhaps wrapped in a layer of plastic film to prevent the oil from staining the brocade lining.
7. Frequent Handling
Regularly handle the cinnabar jewelry you wear with your hands. This allows the surface to absorb a thin layer of natural oils, making it appear more antique and elegant over time.
The actual product is more exquisite and beautiful than the photos.
