Finished with a crystalline glaze that develops a rich, warm golden-yellow color. This medium-sized plate brings these two elements together. A medium-sized plate typically measures about 15-18cm in diameter, making it ideal as a generous side plate, a dish for individual servings, or a plate for cakes. Its deep golden-yellow color, reminiscent of earthenware, harmonizes beautifully with ingredients that emerge from the earth. It pairs wonderfully with vibrant green leafy vegetables, comforting root vegetables like taro and lotus root, or even a tofu steak made from soybeans. All stages of production, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are meticulously done by hand in my home studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. While mass production is not possible, each piece possesses its own unique character, offering the distinct charm that comes from handmade craftsmanship. To address this, we apply a waterproofing treatment to all our tableware before shipping, so there is no need for an initial soaking (me-zame). This waterproofing process requires 2-3 days, hence our shipping timeframe of 5 days from order placement. If you prefer not to have this treatment applied, please inform us at the time of purchase. - Cutlery shown in the product images is not included. - We strive to capture and edit product images to accurately reflect the actual item.
