Diligent embroidery is applied to the seams, such as the sleeves, collar, and hem, which are boundaries to the outside world, to prevent negativity from entering. It is said that there are thousands of embroidery patterns! The patterns are chosen based on the wearer's gender, age, and the occasion for wearing, a common practice across many cultures.
