__Umbrella Sedge Series__
The vigorous umbrella sedge that takes only 4-6 months before it is ready to harvest, only grows in the crystal-clear water. It is the traditional woven material of coastal Pangcah, and the harmony between humanity and nature.
In recent years, Sumi Dongi and her fellow had developed new possibilities from the traditional craft. They separated the skin of the stem from the inner fibers to make the new mats more delicate and avoid the mildew problems.
By translating the traditional craft pieces into design products, Kamaro’an extends the aesthetics of the tribal art into urban lives, and deepen the local industry roots in the tribe.
