Introduction to Kutani-yaki
Kutani-yaki, the brilliant gem of Japanese painted ceramics
It is a painted ceramic that represents traditional Japanese craftsmanship, originating from the Minami-Kaga region in the southern part of Ishikawa Prefecture
It is known as the pinnacle of painted ceramics for its exquisite craftsmanship and brilliant colors
With a long history of more than 360 years, Kutani-yaki has become one of the most representative porcelain crafts in Japan
Not only is it famous for its bright and dazzling colors, but also for its innovative spirit that keeps pace with the times
It is deeply loved by enthusiasts in Japan and around the world. The name of Kutani-yaki comes from Kutani Village in Enuma County, Kaga Province (near Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture today).
Its origins can be traced back to the early Edo period, when porcelain was fired in Kutani Village deep in the Yamanaka Onsen in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
Kutani ware uses its unique "Kutani Five Colors" - five Japanese hard color pigments of green, yellow, red, purple and indigo, to "paint" (i.e. the technique of painting patterns on the glaze), presenting a colorful and rich visual effect.
This has become one of its most distinctive features. With the evolution of the times, Kutani ware has been constantly innovating and integrating traditional and modern designs.
It not only retains the classic five-color style, but also actively connects with contemporary popular culture.
Japanese Lucky Cat Daruma Store (Ourlittlezone)
Established in 2018 and provides online shopping services
Loved by local and overseas customers
Since 2021, we have worked with Kyoto Kiyomizu-yaki Workshop to launch original Lucky Cat and Daruma decorations. Each piece is independently developed by Ourlittlezone, from pattern design to mold making, infused with the brand's unique creative soul, and then handed over to Japan's top craftsmen to hand-craft with exquisite skills to ensure unparalleled quality and delicate craftsmanship.
Our design inspiration comes from the fusion of Chinese and Japanese culture, cleverly combining the agile charm of Japanese Lucky Cat with the Zen philosophy of Chinese Daruma to create an artistic treasure with both literary and artistic atmosphere and auspicious meaning. Each piece is not only a symbol of luck and prosperity, but also carries a blessing for a better life. With innovation as the core, we break through the framework of traditional mascots and give each piece a unique story and emotional connection, aiming to bring happiness and joy to every corner, so that the blessings of Ourlittlezone will accompany you and light up every moment in your life!
