This is a delicate bracelet strung with sax blue seed beads, gold-red white hearts, emerald blue beads, Shan vintage carnelian, ancient agate, and old Chin silver & Orissa brass. The beads, with their beautiful stripe patterns, are carnelian used by the Shan people (Myanmar). While the exact age is unknown, they are over 50 years old vintage. These are small, exquisitely striped carnelian beads. (Vintage carnelian size: 1cm length, 0.6cm diameter) A single small piece of ancient agate has been included. This was unearthed in regions like Pakistan and India, in the Indus Valley, and dates back approximately 2000 years. While also small, it's a lustrous agate with a rich character. The sax blue seed beads are old Venetian beads that made their way to the Naga tribe in India. Their color is truly beautiful, and being semi-transparent, they become even more captivating when held up to the light! The subdued pink beads are antique beads known as White Hearts. They are called this because of the white core (heart) visible within. These are Venetian beads from around the 19th-20th century. This particular bead is a rare "gold-red white heart," meaning the red color is achieved using gold. The emerald blue beads are antique beads called Indopacific beads. The origins of Indopacific beads are said to date back to the 2nd century BCE. These specific beads are excavated items from Indonesia, dating back to around the 10th century—over 1000 years old! The壺-shaped (pot-shaped) components sandwiching the carnelian are old Chin silver. These are heirloom pieces from around the 18th-19th century, originating from Burma. Traditionally used by Chin women in necklaces and other adornments, they show unique wear and endearing marks from age. Their substantial feel and presence are incomparable to modern silver (though some modern pieces are also striking...). These beads are genuinely rare and quite precious! The golden beads are old Orissa brass. These are old and rare beads from the Orissa region of India. The charm on the clasp is also an old brass component from India. The clasp and the bead surrounding the ring are Karen silver. Each small Karen silver bead on the clasp is individually stamped! It’s hard to fathom that each one is done by hand... ◇ Karen Silver ◇ This is silver crafted by the hill tribes living in Thailand and Burma. Each piece is handmade, and it is said to have very high purity. The bracelet is strung with waxed cord, which may feel slightly stiff initially but will become supple with wear.
