[Zhaozhuang Vermilion Clay - The Great Red Robe]
About 3 kilometers from Dingshu Town lies a place called Zhaozhuang, hence the vermilion clay produced there is known as Zhaozhuang Vermilion Clay.
The ore body appears earthy yellow, with hints of red within the yellow, interspersed with bluish-white tender clay. It is found in clay lump form, loose yet dense, disintegrating upon contact with water.
With low quartz content and a high proportion of clay, its shrinkage rate is high, reaching 25% to over 30%. The molding rate is extremely low.
After firing, it often appears dark yellow to dark red, understated and reserved.
The surface is moist and lustrous. When flushed with hot water, its alluring color instantly emerges.
When brewing tea with it, the tea liquor is bright and lively, exuding fragrance and gathering sweetness.
With prolonged use and care, its color deepens to a rosy hue, becoming warm, moist, and profound, exuding a strong sense of affinity.
It is cherished by enthusiasts, considered an indispensable tool for tea connoisseurs.
[Frequently Asked Questions QA]
1. How to season the pot before use?
Clean the inside and outside thoroughly. A dish sponge is recommended; avoid chemical agents. Simply rinse with water, and it is ready for use.
2. How to care for the pot?
After use, keep it clean and dry to prevent tea stains. Place it in a ventilated area after use. For long-term storage in its box, allow it to air dry naturally for 1-2 months to ensure the pores fully release moisture, preventing mold.
3. How to clean tea stains or mold?
Soak with an enzyme cleaner.
4. How to properly warm the pot?
In cold weather or after a long period of disuse, pour 40°C warm water over the inside and outside of the pot, then fill it completely. This allows the Zisha pores to fully absorb moisture.

For pots with engravings, cleaning with a soft brush is recommended.
