These are SDGs jewelry with kintsugi, upcycled from pottery by Matsugunzan Pottery (Shounzan-gama) in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
Cracked or chipped pottery that is no longer used is upcycled, repaired with kintsugi, and transformed into accessories.
The concept behind the work is to create new possibilities by transforming these pieces into modern accessories that connect to the future, allowing people to feel close to nature and Japan's enduring traditions.
Deep brown, elegant pottery fragments are paired with brown components.
They sway elegantly with every step.
The sides of the pottery fragments are adorned with kintsugi, so the gold shines even from the side, adding a touch of sophistication.
These pieces are perfect as a focal point for both casual and elegant outfits.
Length: Pottery fragment: 14 x 16mm Total length: 39mm
Metal fittings: Screw-back earrings (metal fittings cannot be changed)
Weight: Although made of pottery fragments, they are light and comfortable to wear.
As these are one-of-a-kind, unique accessories, they make for an ideal gift. Please consider them as a present for your loved ones.
*As these are finished products, we cannot accept requests for changes to the metal fittings or for remakes.
*We will send the item shown in the photo. However, if it has already been sold on another site, it may be made to order. In such cases, please note that there may be individual differences in the color, pattern, and size of the pottery fragments and natural stones compared to the photo.
*"Kintsugi" is a unique Japanese traditional repair method that uses lacquer and gold powder to mend cracked or chipped ceramics. This work uses a modern, simplified kintsugi technique. Instead of using genuine lacquer made from the sap of the lacquer tree, this method uses adhesive for the bonding.
For the kintsugi parts, lacquer (a paint made by a manufacturer, not raw lacquer) and gold powder (brass powder, pearl powder) are used, along with UV resin for reinforcement.
