"Dots up close, a photograph from afar."
This t-shirt is hand-printed using silk screen techniques on city landscape photographs taken by the artist, which have been processed with halftones. It features a visual trick: from up close, it appears as a collection of solid "dots," but as you step back, a landscape emerges. This design blends the beauty of digital calculations (halftones) with the warmth of handcraftsmanship (hand printing) within a simple composition of a white body and black ink. Each piece from Plusmaru® includes a signature hashtag representing the identity of the location, allowing you to wear the city's scenery not just as a record, but as a "memory."

◆About Halftone Processing
A printing technique that expresses gradation and shading in an image by varying the "size and density of dots" printed with a single color ink. This creates a visual effect where the image appears as a collection of dots when viewed up close, but resolves into a landscape photograph when viewed from a distance.
**Tomoyuki Takahashi | Printmaker**
Born in Ibaraki Prefecture in 1986, currently residing in Tokyo. After gaining diverse experience in apparel and various design fields, he established his silk screen printing technique through self-study. Based on city landscape photographs he has taken, he creates posters, t-shirts, and other works at Plusmaru® that express cityscapes not merely as records, but as "memories," by merging the calculated aesthetics of digital halftones with the tactile quality of analog printmaking.
