|░ Why We Love Jadeite ░|
"A person nurtures jade for three years, and jade nurtures a person for a lifetime."
Crystals possess powerful energy fields but require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, is gentle and mellow. While its energy field may not be as strong as crystals, jadeite's inherent energy is exceptionally pure and clean, offering only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been identified in jadeite. Its chemical composition is sodium aluminum silicate—NaAI〔Si2 O6〕, often containing trace elements like Calcium (Ca), Chromium (Cr), Nickel (Ni), Manganese (Mn), Magnesium (Mg), and Iron (Fe).
White: Essentially free of impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron.
Black: Contains more than 2% chromium.
Green: Contains more than 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow: Contains elemental iron.
Purple: Contains elemental manganese.
Blue: Similar to green, but rarer.
Trace element "Calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily found in bones and teeth, with presence in blood and muscles. Calcium is a crucial regulator of bodily functions throughout life, from youth to adulthood and old age, playing vital physiological roles. It is an indispensable macronutrient for human health and longevity.
Trace element "Chromium" (Cr) is significantly important for maintaining normal physiological functions, helping prevent cardiovascular diseases, and regulating blood sugar. The human body cannot synthesize it and must obtain it through natural foods or supplements. For type 2 diabetics, chromium can increase insulin sensitivity. It aids in controlling cholesterol and blood sugar for overweight individuals. Those under high stress lose chromium faster than average, making it particularly important for these groups.
Trace element "Nickel" (Ni) is an essential trace element for the human body. Adults typically have 6-10 mg of nickel, mainly concentrated in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the intestines, with unabsorbed portions excreted through feces. Only 10-20% of nickel from food is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "Manganese" (Mn) is another type of trace element that protects the body. Jadeite also contains this element. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
Trace element "Magnesium" (Mg) is another essential macronutrient. Like calcium, magnesium is vital for normal bone growth. Sufficient magnesium effectively regulates calcium and maintains normal neuromuscular function, complementing calcium's role. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can increase chronic inflammation in the body, linked to the onset of many chronic conditions, particularly cardiovascular disease mortality. Studies have shown that individuals who drink hard water, with relatively high calcium and magnesium content, have a lower mortality rate from cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, maintaining normal blood magnesium levels reduces the risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "Iron" (Fe) aids enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it one of the "essential trace elements." Adult bodies typically contain 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% distributed in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron to function smoothly.
Medical research indicates that jadeite possesses significant therapeutic capabilities. Long-term wear can not only prevent illnesses but also alleviate or even treat certain conditions.
Relieving Chest Tightness: For individuals with weaker constitutions who sometimes experience chest tightness, wearing a jadeite pendant can help. The pendant emits energy into the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu" acupoints on the chest, and through continuous massage, it can achieve a lasting effect.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to have benefits such as "clearing internal heat, moistening the heart and lungs, nourishing hair, fortifying the five organs, calming the spirit, clearing blood vessels, and improving vision and hearing."
Regularly wearing jadeite allows its trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, promoting the coordinated balance of physiological functions in the body's organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite jewelry, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, comes into direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements in jadeite are absorbed into the body, nourishing the skin and making women appear fairer and more radiant.
Cooling Relief: The cool nature of jadeite provides a soothing, cooling sensation. In the Tang Dynasty, Consort Yang Guifei would place jade in her mouth during summer to relieve heat. Since then, summer has become a time for cool respite. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants are used to combat the heat.
The above are evidence-based reasons for valuing jadeite. Another, less tangible reason is its comforting effect: when feeling down or stressed, gazing at jadeite can bring an inexplicable sense of healing and solace.
