This is a beautiful jade teapot with fine crazing. You can brew delicious Japanese tea, black tea, Chinese tea, etc. This piece is made on a potter's wheel using Shigaraki clay. To achieve the beautiful white color, the pottery is carefully carved and glazed using the thin-cutting technique learned in Kiyomizu, Kyoto. The inside is also glazed, and small holes are made for the tea strainer. It is light, easy to pour, and has excellent water flow. The lid is also well-fitted and fits perfectly. It takes time to complete the entire process from making the pottery to finishing. This piece was created using the experience I gained learning Ogawa-ryu Sencha tea. It also makes a great gift for tea lovers. You can enjoy watching the beautiful crazing increase as you use it.
