In "Flowing Art Consciousness," "Art Consciousness" refers to "Art" and "Consciousness." The exhibition uses psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud's (1856-1939) psychodynamic theory as its curatorial concept, showcasing 48 works by 14 female artists from both domestic and international backgrounds. These artists include: Yuan Jen, Li Chong-Chong, Chang Shu-Fen, Chen Chang-Li, Lai Chun-Chun, Hsueh Pao-Hsia, Guo Si-Min, An Sheng-Hui, Yu Yi-Lan, Haegue Yang, Chiharu Shiota, Peng Wei, Ho Tzu-Jou, and Liao Chi-Yu.
This exhibition will present participating artists and their works in pairs, with the exhibition space divided into six distinct units: Wandering Flow, Tracing the Source, Resonant Flow, Uninhibited Flow, Verdant Flow, and Lingering Echoes. The unit themes are selected from words with "flow" meanings found in classic texts, further explored through the lens of the psychoanalytic concepts of "id," "ego," and "superego." This approach delves into the creative concepts behind each female artist's work and their flow and shifts within these three states of consciousness, offering a fresh interpretative space for the artists and their creations.
