Originally part of a teapot ("sekibin") from the Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki "Blue Cloisonné Bamboo Shippo" collection, the vivid turquoise blue glaze layers with yellow and deep blues, creating a picturesque and beautiful expression within these small ceramic fragments. The surface boasts a textured, three-dimensional relief, adding to its distinctive feel. Complemented by dangling triangular natural turquoise stones, these earrings are finished with an elegant touch. This time, we were specially entrusted with precious pottery fragments from their long history that were unable to be sold due to various reasons such as cracks or chips. Rather than simply reusing broken items, our aim is to transform them into a form that allows the pottery culture and craftsmanship of Kyoto, passed down through generations, to be enjoyed in contemporary life. With this sentiment, each piece is carefully handcrafted.
