Brass Care Instructions: Brass has consistently been a favored material for jewelry due to its affordability and resistance to fading. However, like silver, brass is susceptible to oxidation. Exposure to water, sweat, and air can darken its color. While some appreciate this natural patina, here's how to maintain its original luster: ♦ Avoid contact with water. ♦ Store in a zip-lock bag when not being worn. If the luster diminishes, here are simple methods to restore your item's original brilliance. Please note that while color can be restored, shine may not be fully recovered if the surface is scratched (the matte, antique bronze look is also quite beautiful!). ♦ Gently brush with a toothbrush and a small amount of foaming toothpaste or tooth powder, similar to brushing your teeth, to restore shine. Ensure the item is dried thoroughly afterward. ♦ Wipe with a silver polishing cloth for a quick shine restoration (not suitable for brushed finishes). ♦ Dilute lemon juice, immerse the brass item for about 5 minutes, and it will quickly regain its shine (do not use with natural stones like pearls that are sensitive to acid).
