Artist: Kwood
https://cdn.store-assets.com/s/357613/f/14001768.jpeg"
Born in Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1983, Kwood hails from a background in craft design. He once wandered the streets of Japan, experiencing how wooden art breathed warm and profound life into ancient alleyways. Objects resembling fragments of time, bearing the traces of history and the outlines of the future, find a delicate balance between contrast and harmony, transforming into refined works that tightly connect the vision of the new generation with the simplicity of the old era. Sandalwood, once ground into powder for its scent, is solemnly placed in the most honored area of Japanese homes, symbolizing vitality and light.
Sandalwood is sourced directly from its origin, pure and flawless, untouched by artificial enhancements such as artificial gluing, lining, or fragrances. It is presented in its most original form, utilizing ancient "gou xiang" (incense-drawing) techniques. The aged wood is meticulously hand-peeled to reveal the true soul of the sandalwood. This not only imbues it with eternal vitality but also allows tradition and modern craftsmanship to subtly intertwine within the fingertips, creating a feast for the eyes and nose. Its rich aroma is like solidified time, gently connecting past memories and future aspirations, allowing them to meet and resonate within the fragrance, enduring and profound.
