Chawan

This handcrafted chawan (tea bowl) was made using fine Japanese porcelain clay, known for its smooth texture and refined finish. I glazed the piece in a traditional white crackle glaze, allowing a subtle network of lines to form across the surface—each one telling its own quiet story. The brush-painted Enso symbol, rendered in iron oxide, represents the universe and the beauty of imperfection—no beginning, no end. Like each moment in a tea ceremony, this bowl is entirely unique, with its own quiet presence and personality.
