This work is a design that integrates oriental elements into western life. The combination of ceramics and glaze has a warm and clear texture. Acacia also covers mutual trust and cooperation between each other in a broad sense, and also means to create a win-win situation. Badger-handled Paired Cups (winner of the Taiwan Good Craft Award 2003) Based on the yin-yang concept in Daoism, the belt buckle from ancient times is designed into a modern-life implement. The decor on the handle is inspired by the jade carvings of the Ming dynasty. The Chinese character “badger”, the badger , is homophonic to “joy” and “ecstasy”. Two badgers facing each other symbolize the pursuit of happiness between men and women. In this pair of cups, Oriental elements are blended with Western daily life in the design and ceramics are combined with glass to present a warm and limpid texture. The design suggests mutual trust, union, perfect cooperation, where both parties are happy.
