Vegetable tanning is the oldest tanning method, using agents derived from tannins found in plants. This process involves repeatedly immersing the hide in tanning solutions of varying concentrations over one to two months. Vegetable-tanned leather is free from harmful heavy metals and chemicals, making it safe for direct skin contact, while preserving the leather's natural texture.
