**⎡Whale Leaping⎦** This whale wasn’t painted—it was found. A dried piece of acrylic paint on my palette looked uncannily like a whale gazing out at the sun. So I gently moved it onto canvas and gave it companions: sea-breeze fabric, waves of ink, and a sense of humor. This isn’t a painting *about* the ocean—it’s a collaboration with it.
