Setouchi Sea Sketch Watercolor Postcard Set (6 Cards) In late August 2016, I took a trip to Japan. On this short 5-day journey, I visited Okayama and Kurashiki, and also paid a visit to Naoshima and Teshima in the Setouchi Sea. For me, experiencing Japan for the first time, everything felt new – the weather, warm but not stuffy, the incredibly clean and orderly streets… I decided to capture those feelings and sights on paper with my brush. If you like them too, please take a piece of my experience home with you. --- // Island Memories // Excitedly boarding the ferry to Naoshima, Looking out the window, it was like watching a painting come to life. I gazed across at the quiet islands one by one. A gentle, salty sea breeze brushed past. I closed my eyes without even realizing it, letting the Setouchi Sea of summer 2016 linger in my dreams. --- // Yellow Pumpkin // The yellow pumpkin in the afternoon, And the warm sunlight filtering through. We laughed and took photos by the shore, enjoying a peaceful yet vibrant afternoon. --- // Naoshima Bathhouse // As evening approached, the Naoshima Bathhouse began to glow with neon lights. I slowly entered along with the other travelers, Soaking in the exotic "I LOVE YU," Washing away the day's fatigue, Feeling a sense of languid contentment. --- /// Miyake Shoten /// Strolling along the Kurashiki riverbank, The summer breeze gently blowing, Wandering through the ancient townhouses, We lingered for a long time at Miyake Shoten, Savoring delicious curry and appreciating the century-old architecture. --- /// Uno Port Information Center /// Peering through the window, Looking at the information inside the center, and at the blue ocean reflected on the glass.
