The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns“ For our fifth anniversary creation, we've chosen sunstone from the triclinic crystal family. Its name, sunstone, evokes the radiant orange-red hues of hematite and goethite inclusions, which appear granular or flaky within the stone, creating a dazzling brilliance. However, instead of the more popular golden sunstone, I opted for black sunstone, which appears subdued yet mesmerizing. Its unique, eclipse-like quality reveals subtle hair-like inclusions and a captivating cat's eye effect, reminiscent of a tranquil lake rippled by a gentle breeze. As I held these stones, I was reminded of a series of Symbolist paintings I saw years ago at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York: "Isle of the Dead" by Arnold Böcklin, painted in the summer of the late nineteenth century. ☞ Shipping Times THRIVE Apparel Co. operates as an independent design studio, currently offering a small selection of in-stock items alongside made-to-order pieces.
