✨✨ Wedgwood ✨✨
Josiah Wedgwood, revered as the "Father of English Pottery," founded this historic and renowned British ceramic brand in 1759. Wedgwood is celebrated for its high-quality porcelain, particularly its distinctive "Jasperware." This ceramic is famed for its elegant, pale bas-reliefs set against soft-colored grounds. Wedgwood's designs are classic, and its craftsmanship is exquisite, frequently favored by royalty, nobility, and art enthusiasts, making it a quintessential representative of British ceramic artistry.
The main kiln was established in Stoke-on-Trent in 1759. Shortly after its founding, he developed hard-paste porcelain, which was named "Queen's Ware" by the Princess of Wales, wife of King George IV. He also introduced black basalt pottery, naming it "Black Egyptian." In 1774, his newly invented Jasperware cemented Wedgwood's reputation. In the subsequent years, new types of ceramic ware were successively introduced through his research.
