FED-2 SOVIET LEICA COPY FOR YOUR COLLECTION!

The camera made by FED plant (Zavod im. F.E. Dzerghinskiy) at Ukraine (former USSR). As known most of FED RF cameras was copies of famous Leica camera. FED-2 camera was a next step of Russian Leica development, it received a lot of new features and was very popular camera at the USSR. ITEM'S CONDITION: EXCELLENT++++ Presented camera is in excellent condition, clean and attractive. All functions available. Film winding and rewind works correctly. TECHNICAL FEATURES * Shutter speeds: are 1/25, 1/50, 1/100, 1/250, 1/500th of second and "B" (old sequence). Shutter work looks fine. Synchronization with a flash at 1/30 sec (tested!). * Lens: Camera equipped with coated lens "Industar-26m" #136816, it is a very sharp Soviet lens, based at ideas of famous Zeiss Tessar 4-element lens. Focal Length = 52mm, aperture from 2.8 to 22 (without clicks). Lens is mostly clear, but with some very minor cleaning marks at front element, which will not impact on image quality. NOTE: Soviet lens manufacturers wrote even about NEW lenses: "The components of modern high quality lenses are produced from special grades of glass. The smelting process involved causes inevitable formation of gasses which get trapped in the glass to form bubbles. They are always noticed with complex photographic lenses. The bubbles do not affect the lens performance or the quality of the image. Soviet state standards also allows the presence of next minor defects: scratches with the width less than 0.02mm at each surface of each optical element with total length no more than double element's diameter; dots with diameter less than 0.3mm no more than 5 dots; several minor pieces of dust and no more 2 napkin fibers with the length no more 3mm. Therefore, the factory does not accept claims about bubbles and minor defects of clearance found in lenses or exchange such lenses." * FED-2 accepts the whole range of Leica Thread Mount (M39) lenses. * Rangefinder is correct, focusing is smooth and pretty. * You can adjust the sharpness of viewfinder by special lever. * Built-in self-timer IS ABSENT, it is other feature of old FED-2 cameras. * Accessory shoe is situated in socket with big depth, thus the camera don't allow to use all kinds of external viewfinders (35mm & 85mm discrete Russian viewfinders will bring a trouble, for example) or flash units... * The camera is a very nice in using and highly collectible. . * Tripod mount: 3/8".
