【Xiao Mei Yao Old Zhu Ni Clay】 Aged for 30 years, the clay is refined using ancient methods, without mouth trimming. Fired at 1160°C, with a shrinkage rate of 20%. The term "Xiao Mei Yao" refers to a place name approximately 5000 meters from Huanglong Mountain, not that the teapot is fired in a small coal kiln. Because there were several small kilns for firing bricks, tiles, and pottery in that area in the past, it gradually became known as "Xiao Mei Yao." Xiao Mei Yao Zhu Ni clay is rich in oil and has a slippery texture, making it very sticky and difficult to work with and fire. It experiences significant shrinkage during forming, drying, and firing, requiring a lower firing temperature and making it prone to warping, deformation, and cracking. After firing, the pieces transform from orange-red to a deep red hue, appearing warm, lustrous, and producing excellent water color when brewing tea. Rinsing with hot water instantly reveals a delicate red, exuding a mysterious charm. Brewing tea with this clay results in a bright and lively infusion, releasing fragrance and gathering sweetness. With prolonged use, the color deepens to a rich red, becoming warm, profound, and exceptionally inviting.
