She is a stamp artist who meticulously carves stamps daily and also teaches stamp carving workshops, referring to herself as a "stamp carving professional." Currently residing in Taiwan, she lives and works from a cozy old apartment in Taipei, dedicated to carving and creating stamps. Having previously worked as an editor for magazines and books at publishing houses, she now devotes her time to designing and producing stamps. Each season, she releases a collection of handmade, original stamps. Her published works include volumes no. 1-8, featuring over 100 distinct stamps. Her book publications include "Handmade Life: 12 Hours a Week," "Rubber Stamps, Open the Door!," and "12 Lessons for Beginner Rubber Stamp Carving: Next Stamp Class." Utilizing erasers as her primary carving medium, each stamp is painstakingly crafted with deliberate cuts and strokes. Her stamp designs frequently draw inspiration from everyday life, the scenery and encounters from her travels, and the things she cherishes. These elements are combined with motifs such as text, flowers and plants, geometric shapes, nature, and architecture. She constructs her stamp compositions through deconstruction and recombination, employing intricate layering of lines and planes, accented by minimalist primary and secondary lines, foreign text, and symbols she collects. Chamie enjoys pairing stamps and colors, creating unique solo performances, collaborations, and repetitions among various sized stamps. Many of her graphic designs are also derived from snippets of her stamp artwork, extended through combinations of stamping and printing techniques (e.g., for postcards and washi tape).
