This tea bowl was made from Japanese porcelain clay and then soda fired in Taiwan.
It is quite a large bowl, holding 550 ml comfortably.
Soda firing is the process of spraying soda that is dissolved in water into the kiln at high temperature. The soda will deposit itself on pots and create a beautiful glaze. I first glazed this bowl with a jet black color. The amber colorings were all made during the soda firing. These pots are unique and can never be repeated.
I love making tea bowls as each is different and has its individual personality.
This pot was made in my small pottery workshop in Taiwan.
Holds 550 ml
Height: 9.5 cm
